During World War II, USS Kilauea-USS Mount Baker delivered ammunition to ships and bases in both the Atlantic and Pacific Theaters of war. Ship was renamed to avoid confusion with a similarly named ship. During Korea and Vietnam, she again supplied ammunition to the fleet fighting communist aggression.
