USS SHIELDS (DD-596) served during WWII (1945-1946) in MIRI, BORNEO. She alsdo served during the Korean War (1951-1954) in BOMBLINE, Kojo, and Wonsan. This plaque in in proud memoryof our shipmates and the SHIELDS DD-596 who contributed a large measure of our lives in defense of world democracy.
