Master Sergeant Laguna devoted 28 years of distinguished service to the Arizona Air National Guard as a proud member of the 162nd Fighter Wing.Over the course of her career, she excelled in the Administration career field, where she became a trusted expert in personnel management, organizational support, and mission readiness.
She also served as a highly respected resource advisor, ensuring the Wing’s financial and operational priorities were executed with precision and accountability.
From 2003 to 2016, Sergeant Laguna served in the Active Guard Reserve, where her leadership, technical proficiency, and unwavering commitment to Airmen played a vital role in sustaining the Wing’s operational effectiveness. Her exceptional dedication was formally recognized in 2001 when she was selected as First Sergeant of the Year—an honor that reflected her deep compassion, mentorship, and steadfast advocacy for the enlisted force.
In addition to her long-term contributions, Sergeant Laguna answered the nation’s call during one of the most defining moments in modern history, being activated immediately following the events of September 11, 2001. Her service during this critical period underscored her readiness, resilience, and devotion to duty.
Sergeant Laguna’s career stands as a testament to professionalism, integrity, and an enduring commitment to the Air Force core values of Integrity First, Service Before Self, and Excellence in All We Do.
