Born 03/17/1923 Hastings, NB. Joined Marines July 1, 1939, age 16, trained at MCRD. Served in WWII. After helping extinguish fires at the Fort Mills barracks in the Philippines, he was captured by the Japanese, after the fall of Corregidor and was held as a POW for 3-1/2 years until the war's end. Also served in the Korean War. Ended up at Camp Pendleton, met wife there who was a lst Lietenant, Ulla Revsveck, married 03/13/1954. Involved in Vista, California community activities such as Little League, Vista Jr. Wrestlers, and Bob Farner's Wildlife rescue and education. Painted on downtown wall mural. Died at Veterans home in Chula Vista 04/26/2020, age 97. His view on life: enjoy your freedom; life is fantastic!
