Donald proudly served in the First Marine Division and fought at Inchon Landing and at the Battle of Chosin Reservoir.
Don was born in Los Angeles, CA on June 4, 1931 and died on November 16, 2014. He grew up during the last part of the great depression and WWII. He learned the value of being self-reliant and went to work at age 12. He joined the US Marine Corps October 13, 1949, serving during the Korean War. He was discharged in January 1953. He worked for an aircraft company in Burbank and attended Valley Jr. College where he met his future wife, Mary Jo Kreyer. They married in 1955 and lived with his mother, Edna after his father Jack passed away. They were blessed with 3 children, Jack, Donna Jo and Edward. Don was employed by Gilfillan Bros in Los Angeles (later sold to ITT Industries) as a wave guide tech and was promoted several times with his last position as Manager of Mfg. Engineering. He left the company to work for Transco in Marina Del Rey and returned to retire in 1993. In 1994 he and Mary Jo retired to Bullhead City, AZ.
