Technician 5th Grade Harry A. Ratner was born October 28, 1913 in Detroit, Michigan, the son of Jack and Minnie Ratner. He attended Detroit Northwestern High School and Wayne State University. Harry moved to Flint in 1939 to work for Winegarden's Furniture Store. He enlisted in the Army for a 4-year duty in 1942 and was stationed in Italy.  In 1946 he returned to Flint as Sales Manager at Flint Home Furniture. He subsequently was associated with Fain Furniture, Economy Furniture and Mannie's Peoples. He was the creator of the Antique World Mall in Billy Durand's Carriage Factory in Carriage Town. Harry was a member of Congregation Beth Israel, the B'Nai Brith, the Knights of the Round Table and a former Big Brother.  He married Reva in 1948 and they had four children.  In addition to his four children, he has nine grandchildren and one great grandchild who cherish his memory.  Harry died on December 28, 2003 in Flint Michigan."
