As part of 624th Quartermaster Company, Jerry felt honored to have provided the first of final services to his beloved fallen brothers prior to their departure from Long Binh, Vietnam.
Jeronimo “Jerry” Montano was born in San Jose, New Mexico. He was drafted into the Army in 1964, he went to Vietnam, and he was honorably discharged in 1966. While serving in Vietnam, Jerry worked in Grave Registry for one full year, where he painstakingly prepared his fallen military brothers for their return home to their families. Despite his traumatic experience in Vietnam, Jerry always said he was proud of his service; and he was honored that "Uncle Sam" chose him to carry out this duty to his beloved military brothers and this great country. Sadly, the Montano Family lost Jerry to COVID in December 2020. He is greatly missed.
