Veteran Combat Infantryman and Squad Leader engaged in numerous Firefights and "Search and Destroy Missions". Don was WIA in one of the fiercest battles of the Vietnam War, "LZ Bird". Awarded the Purple Heart, Vietnam Service Medal with two Bronze Service Stars and a Presidential Unit Citation for extraordinary heroism against an armed enemy.
