Technician Fifth Grade (sergeant - (e5) equivalent) Syrstad was an OSS volunteer beloging to the NORSO group, he parachuted deep behind enemy lines from France, through Europe, ending in Norway. He ws responsible for disrupting and destroying German communiques, bridges, railways and supply lines - strategically preparinng the battlefield for allied incursion.
