Marlo was at the northernmost military post in South Vietnam named Ocean View. Marlo was in Bravo Company, First Amphibian Tractor Battalion, Third Marine Division. He was an assault Amphibious Vehicle Crew Member. After returning to the states he was in the Fifth Marine Expeditionary Brigade at Camp Pendleton, California.
