Glenn lived a very full life of service, dedicated to the Marine Corps, his community, and his country. Former Sergeant with Charlie Battery, 1st Battalion 13th Marines, Glenn served in Vietnam from early November 1967 until late November 1968. For much of that time period, he was attached out to India Company, 3rd Battalion, 26th Marines as the radio operator in an artillery Forward Observer team. India Company arrived at Khe Sanh in mid-December 1967 and was given the task of defending an area known as Hill 881s. Glenn was 19 when the 77-day siege of Khe Sanh began in December of 1967, and often said later in life that he never expected to reach the age of 20.
Glenn went on to work in the Public Sector for 35 years, managing numerous Public Works units throughout Southern California. After retirement, he volunteered with NGOs in Thailand, Laos, China, Cambodia, and Vietnam. He has built treatment plants, water wells, irrigation systems, libraries, and landfills. He also has been an advisor to foreign governmental agencies in education, engineering, and management.
Glenn was attached to India Company, 3rd Battalion. 26th Marines as the radio operator in an artillery Forward
Observer team. Glenn fought at Khe Sanh during the siege of Hill 881s. Glenn was one of the few who escaped without
injury. Glenn worked with the History Project to recover and repatriate WWII Marines Missing in Action on Tarawa.
