Sergeant First Class Ronald P. Hintay, born on November 13, 1969, in Rosario Cavite, Philippines, forged a path of valor that spanned continents and generations. Migrating to San Diego, California, Ron embraced a calling greater than himself, joining the U.S. Army as a field medic in December 1993. With courage and compassion, he dedicated 22 years to serving his country, often in the most challenging and dangerous conditions.

Ron proved himself on the front lines, serving in six overseas deployments, including two to Afghanistan and four to Iraq, and participated in three peacekeeping missions in Macedonia. A decorated soldier, he earned the revered Bronze Star Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, five Army Commendation Medals, six Army Achievement Medals, and campaign medals for his service in both Afghanistan and Iraq. In 2002, he achieved his Airborne wings, embodying the U.S. Army's motto: This We’ll Defend.

Beyond his warrior's courage, Ron was driven by a profound dedication to his fellow soldiers. Known for his unwavering support and healing skills, he not only saved lives but uplifted spirits, always there when his comrades needed him most. His commitment to service extended beyond the battlefield, as he pursued education in health science and earned an automotive certification.

Ron’s legacy lives on in the lives he touched and the sacrifices he made for his country. His memory remains a beacon of duty, honor, and selflessness. SFC Ronald P. Hintay passed away on May 7, 2023, in Georgia at the age of 53, leaving behind a legacy of valor and compassion that will forever inspire.
