Mason served during WWII and Korea as a Boatswain's Mate aboad the USS William C. Miller (PC-484 Sub-Chaser). He also served aboard the USS Mount McKinley command ship during amphibious landings at Inchon Korea. He retired after 30 years of dedicated service to his country.
