BOB E. KAFADER
Captain
Alaska Air National Guard
World War II - Cold War
KIA 24 November 1957
A veteran of World War II, Capt. Kafader died in a crash of his "Gooney Bird" aircraft while attempting to land at Gustavus Airstrip to refuel and then return to his family for the holidays. Of the eleven personnel on the aircraft, seven survived and four were killed. Never forget the price of freedom and those who serve.
