Private Sylvester Henning served as an Infantryman with Company B, 168th Infanty Regiment, 34th Infantry Division. During a reconnaissance mission in Zena, Italy he was shot through the head and later burried onsite by enemy soldiers. His remains were not recovered and identified until 12 yeas later.
