ROBERT CARL BEATTIE
Bob enlisted in 1955 after graduating from high school in El Monte, California. He served as Staff Yeoman to the Commander of Mine Forces for the U.S. Pacific Fleet in Long Beach and to the Commander of Destroyer Division 32 in San Diego, where he was assigned to 4 different destroyers along the West Coast. He also served as a Court Reporter and Unit Intelligence Clerk at the Naval Air Station in Atsugi, Japan, and later at the Naval Air Station in Lemoore, California. In those roles, he reported the official record for numerous court-martial proceedings and provided clerical support for the intelligence unit’s internal investigations. He received 3 Good Conduct Awards and proudly served his beloved country for nearly 10 years.
