Gunner's Mate 2nd Class Herbert M. Kirch was one of three Kirch brothers who served in WWII. Herbert enlisted in 1943. He attended gunnery school at Pontiac, Mich. and then served as an anti-aircraft instrutor at Shell Beach, La.
