Serving in Vietnam in combat and multiple campaigns with
UDT units, Aviation Ordanceman First Class Patrick Crosby disarmed booby traps behind enemy
lines, saving many lives. He was awarded the Bronze Star
for Valor. While attached to the USS Intrepid (CVS-I I). he
placed the notation collar on Mercury Gemini 3 space
capsule after splashdown in 1965.
Prior to being liberated by elements of the 1st cavalry
Division, Tom and Patrick were American child civilian
of war for over three years in santo Tomas
Prison camp in the Philippines during WWII. The Crosby
brothers later joined the Navy during the Korean war era
to show their appreciation to their Country for their
Crying and waving as they sing 'God Bless America," rescued
internees of Santo Tomas display the first American flag they
have seen in 37 months.
