F14 Fire Control Technician First Class Petty Officer attached to VF-24 deployed to the USS Constellation from September 1978 to May 1979, and again in February 1980. The Connie assisted in the unsuccessful 24 April 1980 raid to free American hostages from the American Embassy in Tehran Iran. We spent a record-setting 110 days at sea. As a result, the crew of Constellation was awarded the Navy Expeditionary Medal for their service.
Also Aboard the USS Independence in October 1983 for Operation Urgent Fury in Grenada with The Hughes Aircraft Company.
