Cesar Buhain Pugeda enlisted in May 1967 and served honorably for 20 years in the United States Navy. He proudly served aboard the USS Bon Homme Richard (CV-31), USS Coral Sea (CV-43), USS Enterprise (CVN-65), USS Constellation (CV-64), and USS Kitty Hawk (CV-63), which was his last duty assignment in 1987. His individual and unit decorations include the Navy Presidential Unit Citation, Navy Unit Commendation (with Star), Navy Meritorious Unit Commendation (with 2 Stars), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal, Navy and “E” Ribbon. In addition to this, he received service and campaign medals that included the Navy Good Conduct Medal (with 4 Stars), National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Humanitarian Service Medal, and Vietnam Campaign Medal.
