This plaque is dedicated to all the women who served in the Nurse Corps from 1901 to today's wars.
We as a nation recognize and honor the women and men of the Nurse Corps of the Army, Navy and Air Force, which in peacetime and war have provided medical care to service members, military families or others in need around the globe. Serving with devotion to their country and humanity, they have provided comfort, care, and a human touch to those who were suffering and dying. Whether stationed stateside at bases, camps or forts, aboard hospital ships or on far distant battle fields, thousands of nurses have been duly acclaimed and decorated for their valor, resolution and selfless service.
Their legacy to all Americans has been and will continue to be one of courage, healing and the triumph of the human spirit.
