Served together in the 14th Marines of 4th MARDIV on Roi-Namur and Saipan. Maurice went on to make landings on Tinian and Iwo Jima, for which the division received a Presidential Unit Citation. After war, returned home and married his pen pal, Blake's sister. Career Marine earning numerous medals and ribbons in his 22+ years of service.
