AVCM (AW) Lee started his US Navy career with basic training in San Diego, California.  He completed Aviation Mechanics Mate "A" School in Memphis, Tennessee and was subsequently assigned to the Line Division at Naval Air Facility Detroit, Michigan, qualifying as a plane captain for five different aircraft.  AD3 Lee's next duty station was Patron Twenty-Two, Naval Air Station Barbers Point, Hawaii, where he achieved the rank of Petty Officer Second Class.  

Following that, AD2 Lee reported to Fleet Logistics Support Squadron Fifty, Republic of the Philippines, CIA/C2B CODS (Carrier On-Board Delivery), Aircraft Division, maintaining aircraft at bases throughout Asia and the Republic of South Vietnam.    

After being promoted to Petty Officer First Class, he attended Aviation Electrician Mate "A" School in Memphis, Tennessee.  He subsequently served with RVAW-110 as Electrical Shop I-PO; VAW-117 for sea duty as Electrical Shop I-PO and later Night Check Maintenance Control Supervisor advancing to Chief Petty Officer; RVAW-110 as E2B/E2C FRAMP Instructor advancing as Senior Chief Petty Officer; VF-11 as the Maintenance Control Master Chief Petty Officer while making the first F14-D Tomcat deployment; A HSL-41 as Maintenance Master Chief; and his final assignment returning to sea duty as Maintenance Master Chief in HS-6. 

AVCM (AW) Thomas C. Lee has earned three Navy/Marine Corps Commendation Medals, a Navy/Marine Corps Achievement Medal, a Joint Services Unit Commendation, two Navy/Marine Corps Unit Commendations, a Navy Excellence Award, six Good Conduct Medals, three Navy Expeditionary Medals, two National Defense Medals, two Armed Forces Expeditionary Medals, two Vietnam Service Medals, a Southwest Asia Medal, a Humanitarian Service Medal, five Sea Service Deployment Ribbons, an Overseas Ribbon, a Meritorious Unit Award-Vietnam, and a Campaign Medal -Vietnam.
