Major Robert Green honorably and faithfully served in the United States Marine Corps from June 1978 to August 2007. He took the scenic route, serving as an enlisted man, Warrant Officer, and ultimately retiring as a Major. He held various assignments of increasing responsibility and watched as communications systems and technology grew over his 29 years of service. He received awards at all ranks but held the Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal near his heart as it marked his service as the Executive Officer of the 8th Communication Battalion (deployed) during Operation Iraqi Freedom
