MEDALS-RIBBONS: National Defense, Armed Forces Reserve
In WWII, PFC Thoben served stateside in meteorology studies and radio transmissions. On the GI Bill he attended college graduating with an Engineering degree. Joined the Army Reserves, was commissioned as an officer where he was involved in early airplane inbound radar and as a production engineer. He retired as a Major in 1964. Loved history, adamant patriot, and loved his country and his family.
