Active duty Service from 1969 to 1976. Designated Naval Flight Officer with service
as bombardier/navigator in the A-6 Intruder. During two combat tours with Attack
Squadron 196 aboard USS Enterprise from 1971 t0 1973, “Fischly” flew a total of 138
combat missions including the Linebacker and Linebacker II raids and was awarded
the Distinguished Flying Cross, 8 Air Medals, and the Navy Commendation Medal
with Combat “V”.
