Lieutenant Commander Crouch served with distinction and courage as a Naval Aviator during World War II and Korea. Flying from the carrier USS Boxer (CV-21) in his F4U Corsair he engaged a North Korean truck convoy destroying 6 and damaging 4 others. He then engaged North Korean troops until all ordnance were expended. For his action, he was earned the Distinguish Flying Cross.
