LCDR Evans began his career in WWII as a Naval Aviator flying the PBY "Black Cat" for VP-44 based in rhe Solomon Islands conducting night bombing missions over New Ireland and New Britain. He flew FU Corsairs with VF-5B and F7U Cutlass and FJ-4 Fury with VA-212. He flew over 10,000 flight hours in 60 different military aircraft.
