Lt. Col. Floyd Ray “Andy” Anderson spent his career as a navigator for Strategic Air Command flying KC135 Stratotankers and other large cargo planes. During his service, he earned The Air Medal for Meritorious Achievement while participating in aerial flight, The Air Force Commendation Medal for meritorious service, and The Distinguished Flying Cross, for Extraordinary Achievement while participating in Aerial Flight. Floyd retired from the Air Force with full honors on April 1, 1978 after 22 years of service.
He loved his job, got to travel, and was immensely proud of being in the Air Force. Indeed, he saved lives, and told us the stories.
