LtCol Miliefsky first enlisted as a Private and then was accepted for Aviation Cadet Training. After pilot training and accepting his commission, he went on to serve in Vietnam. He flew 286 combat missions during the Tet Offensive in AC-47 "Spooky" Gunships.
