Alan Fischer served in the Navy from 1967-1973 with a strong passion for flying. He was an A-6 intruder pilot who successfully completed 168 combat missions throughout North Vietnam. Over the course of his service, he earned numerous rankings and medals such as the Distinguished Flying Cross w/star that reflected his dedication, courage, and love for his country.
As a second-generation combat pilot, Alan flew the A6 Intruder on 168 missions including Operation Iron Hand, destroying Surface-to-Air Missile sites.
