Gennery Sergeant Beard first served in Korea with Weapons Company 7th Marines, 1st Marine Division. He went on to serve in logistics with the 2nd Marine Division as drill instructor during the Vietnam War. Ray gave 20 years service to the United tates Marine Coprps.
