A graduate of the US Army Military Academy, West Pont Class of 1886, General of the Armies of the United Stats of America, General John Joseph (Black Jack ) Pershing is a legend of all time for his performance during World War I. His contribution to the security of the United Statew dates back to the "Indian Wars" 1885/5, through all conflicts up to and including World War I (1917-18). General Pershing is the only officer ever to be granted the position of "General of the Armies of the United Sates" - above the five star grade.
