Bill proudly served with the 3rd Battalion, 4th Marines as an Infantry Platoon Commander stationed in the Northern I Corps (DMZ), South Vietnam. He was assigned to serve as a Combined Action Company Commander of the U.S. Marines and Vietnamese Popular Forces, tasked with protecting six Vietnamese villiages 10 miles west of Da Nang.
