Fleet Marine Force, Iraq
Daniel served proudly and courageously as a Navy Hospital Corpsman assigned to the Fleet Marine Force. He was wounded in combat and received the Purple Heart. He was awarded the Bronze Star with Valor and the Navy Achievement medals for heroic action in the face of grave personal danger. 225 Combat Patrols, made U.S. Navy and Marine Corps history by being the first amputee Corpsman and of all Naval Personnel to EVER be assigned to an infantry unit.
