4 Feb 1927Born in Whiawa, Oahu, Hawaii
26 Apr 1948 Enterred US Army.
May 1949 Graduated from US Army Language School in
Montrey, California. Assigned to Military Intelligence Service (MIS) and GHQ in Tokyo.
Oct 1950 lnchon landing and fought in North Korea.
25 Apr 1952 Honorably discharged. Received a Bronze Star
medal.
Sep 1952 Enterred Washington University, St. Louis MO.
14 Mar 1955 Hired by US Army civil service in Japan as a logistic specialist.
27 May 1958 Hired by Military Sealift Command (MIS), Yokohama, Japan. as an euipment specialist.
1 May 1973 Hired by US Navy Suprvisor Shipbuilding (SUPSHIP) in San Diego as a warranted contracting officer. Administerred contract modificatioñs for building hospital ships USNS MERCY and COMFORT at NASSCO.
17 Apr 1977 Graduated from National University with a BS degree in quality assurance.
1 Jub 1989 Retired from Civil Service after a total of 40 years of Federal service including military.
Haruo and Emiko have 3 married daughters, Alice, Mari and Grace.
They plan to cerebrate 60 years of marriage in Kona, Hawaii next year where Alice and Andy live.
