Commander Farley served as a Surface Warfare Officerin USS HAMNER (DD-718), patrolling the Gulf of Tonkin, and rescuing downed pilots. He later served as a psychologist aiding PTSD-affacted personnel. He established a PTSD Center during Desert Storm.
