Commander Farrar joined the Navy at 16 as an Aircraft Mechanic, youngest enlisted seaman promoted to Chief Petty Officer. As a "Mustanger" he rose to the rank of Commander on merit and high achievment without a college education. He lfew as a Bombardier Navigator on the A3D Skywarrior )larghest carrier-based jet bomber) and Navigator on a PV-2 Neptune. He had multiple deployments on aircraft carriers including the USS Bon Homme Richard. He served in WWII, Korea and Vietnam.
