Jim, a skilled Design/Research/Development Astronautics Officer, served at the Pentagon, Vandenberg AF base, Los Angeles AF Station and Patrick AF Base. Jim retired as the Deputy Director for the Space Systems and Command, Control and Communication. While serving in the Space and Missile Division, Jim's significant contributions and leadership were responsible for over 62 intercontinental Ballistic R&D Missile launches, the Titan Space Launch Vehicles and 37 Satellite launches for NASA and the DOD over his 25 year career. Jim received over 20 meritorious service medals and ribbons for his major contributions to nationally significant space programs and directly contributed to many critical decisions of national importance. He was a loving husband and father of three children who felt that one of the biggest honors in his life was to work for the United States Air Force.
