Colonel Davis served 37 years as a Professional Soldier. He participated in the Spanish American War with Teddy Roosevelt's Rough Riders and was later assigned to the Phillippine Insurrection then operations against Pancho Villa. During World War I, he was assigned military attache to the Hague Netherlands and other tours as an attache during his years of service.
