Mike entered active duty on December 6, 1978 and served as an enlisted Marine with a promotion to the rank of Staff Sergeant. In May 1986, as a result of his hard work and dedication to the Corps, Mike joined the ranks of Warrant Officer. After more than 20 years of honorable service to his Country, Mike retired on September 1, 1998 with the rank of Chief Warrant Officer 3. He was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, Meritorious Unit Commendation Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Navy/Marine Corps Achievement Medal, Sea Service Deployment Ribbon (2nd Award), Navy Arctic Service Medal, Pistol Marksmanship Ribbon, Meritorious Mast (4th Award), Secretary of the Navy Letter of Commendation, and numerous Letters of Appreciation.
As proof of his unwavering dedication, he worked diligently and joined the ranks of Warrant Officer. During the 20 years of his service, Mike was continually commended, recognized for his professional leadership, and honored for his meritorious service to his country. He considered it the ultimate honor to have served in the United States Marine Corps.
Mike served his country with tremendous price and honor. He is loved by many and will be forgotten by none.
