Chief Metalsmith Jesse Tillery was enlisted in the Navy from1923 to1925 and was honorably discharged. He reenlisted during WWII to become a Sea Bee and was deployed to the Western Pacific in the "Battle of New Brittain" supporting the Marines in that campaign.
