As Airplane Commander of the B-29 Superfortress assigned to the 315th Bomb Wing, 20th Air Force, "Bob" flew 14 misions ans was cited for extraordinary achieveement while bombing the coal liquefaction plant at Ube, Japan, flying at night from the Marianas Islands.
