Captain Miguel Nava, a Pilot for the CH-53E ("TIGER 43") was assigned to Marine Heavy Helicopter Squadron-361, Marine Aircraft Group 16, 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing, stationed at Marine Corps Air Station, Miramar, California.
Tragically the crew perished in the crash of this aircraft during training on the 7th of February 2024.
Miguel Nava, of Traverse City, Michigan, was commissioned in the Marine Corps on May 26th, 2017 and was promoted to the rank of Captain on November 1, 2021. His decorations include the Global War on Terrorism Medal, the National Defense Service Medal and the Sea Service Deployment Ribbon.
