Howard Eugene Myers served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the 1968 TET offensive as an infantry platoon leader with Company “E”, Second Battalion, Twenty-Seventh Marine Regiment. His decorations include a Bronze Star Medal, Navy Commendation Medal, and Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal, each with Combat “V”, and a Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry with Silver Star. He was also awarded a Combat Action Ribbon, Presidential Unit Citation, Republic of Vietnam Meritorious Unit Citation, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, and a Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal.
Beyond his impressive military service, Gene, as a husband, father, son, and brother, continuously demonstrates his dedication to our country and the freedoms we enjoy. We are truly inspired by Captain HE “Gene” Myers.
