Doyle's distinguished career included training with Underwater Demolition Training Unit # ONE, Class # 6, subsequently becoming Director of UDT Training in Little Creek, Virginia. After attending the Naval War College, he remained as Staff Instructor for 2 years. Doyle was Commanding Officer of the USS Grapple ARS-7 and the USS Rogers DD-876.
