GEORGE ALBERT SOBIECK was an Able Seaman with US Merchant Marines operating a tug boat for the U. S. Army Transportation Corps during World War II.
In preparation for the Normandy Invasion, George positioned disabled ships, and building the breakwater.
On D-Day his Tug removed damaged/disabled landing craft from the beachhead.
